Featured Resident Artist, me…
The month of July saw me enjoying a front and center display at Canal Quarter Arts as the Featured Resident Artist! It was fun! There was an article written about me and First Friday saw several sales! Yay! It definitely has been a highlight of the past few months.
I’ve been battling with the pain from arthritis in my hips. It has gotten so bad that my Doc and I have decided it was time for a hip replacement. I’ve spent the last three weeks taking care of all the pre-op appointments and babying my hip. It’s getting old all this sitting and not being able to Stand upright to walk. but a new bout of sitting and walking is about to begin as I have my surgery next week. Wish me luck.
On the art front I have been working on a new blackwork piece. It is again one of my Mother’s photographs that she painted from. It is really coming along nicely! It is amazing how much work you can get done on something when you put 8 hours a day into it. Instead of months, this one is taking me weeks. I like this. Very much. Especially because I have been invited to do a solo show next year at the FCCA, Fredericksburg Center for Creative Arts. I’m incredibly honored and will now be scrambling to get enough pieces done as I need 25-35!!! I can do this! I’m so excited!
Anyway. That’s what is going on with me. What’s going on with you?
